In an official response to the plan by Steve Witkoff, the US special envoy, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called for a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal of the Zionist military from the Gaza Strip and the guarantee of the entry of humanitarian aid. This response, a copy of which was provided to Al Jazeera, indicates Hamas readiness for a phased exchange of prisoners and the beginning of the process of rebuilding Gaza under international supervision.
