China, Iran, Pakistan, Russia Emphasize Stable Afghanistan, Free of Terrorism and Sanctions/ Firmly Oppose Re-establishment of Military Bases

The fourth quadrilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of China, Iran, Pakistan, and Russia was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New Y a meeting in which the four countries, while declaring their support for an independent and stable Afghanistan, emphasized the need for a serious fight against terrorism, lifting sanctions, economic reconstruction, respecting the rights of women and minorities, and the sustainable return of refugees. The four parties emphasized that the national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Afghanistan must be respected and firmly opposed the re-establishment of military bases in or around Afghanistan by countries responsible for the current situation, which is detrimental to regional peace and security.
