“Mohammed Raad,” head of the Loyalty to the Resistance faction in the Lebanese parliament, called Hezbollah’s weapons handover “political suicide,” emphasizing that this decision is not a sovereign choice, but rather an imposition by foreign powers that is pushing Lebanon toward internal tensions and new crises. Referring to the enemies’ failure to confront the Resistance, he noted that the Resistance’s weapons are Lebanon’s only defense against Israeli aggression, and any handover would mean a loss of national honor and the collapse of the country’s security. At the same time, the Lebanese people and various social groups are also opposed to disarmament and warn that this action will have catastrophic consequences for the stability and security of the region.
